Vallarta Overview

Framed by the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and embellished by the mountains of the Sierra Madre, Vallarta boasts beautiful landscapes, forests, exuberant flora and fauna, gorgeous beaches and many inland and aquatic activities.

The Pacific is home to numerous marine species, like whales, dolphins, stingrays and multicolored fishes. The area features breathtaking submarine sceneries, an incredible spot for all scuba diving fanatics.

Puerto Vallarta is also one of the most bohemian and colorful tourist destinations to visit in our country. Plan your next family vacations in a calm site, with warm local people and the essence of Mexican villages as a highlight.

Nuevo Vallarta, where Aquaventuras Park is located, is just a few minutes away from Puerto Vallarta. However, due to their proximity, we could say that both spots belong to the same area: Bahia de Banderas, the largest bay in Mexico and the second in North America.

Recommendations

For your security always drink bottled water.

Visitors must bring effective passport, as well as the visa in case your country citizens need it. For more info please contact Mexico's consular agency in your city or country.

Mexican peso is the national currency although US dollar is widely accepted throughout Vallarta. Major credit cards are also accepted in most establishments. The banks offer money exchange during business hours. ATM's are available everywhere for cash withdrawals.

In Vallarta as the rest of Mexico, electricity works the same as in the US, with a voltage of 110 AC. An adaptor/converter could be helpful anyway.

If you wish to rent a car, you will need a valid driver's license from your resident country and always have it with you while driving.

The bus and taxi systems are also very complete, inexpensive and secure.
