Gulf World Dolphin Calf

At 3:30 am on February 8th, 2016 Luna, a 10 year old Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin, gave birth to her first calf! She was born in the main dolphin stadium habitat weighing in at approximately 30 pounds and 3 feet long. She has begun to successfully nurse and can be seen riding in the safety of her mother's slipstream. This calf has made Sandy, Luna's mother, a first time grandmother! She will be under 24 hour observation for the next several weeks by Gulf World veterinary and marine mammal staff. Stay tuned for updates!
