How can I get to Dolphin Discovery-Isla Mujeres?
We have 2 free ferry services at 9:00 am and 11:00 am, at different departure points according to your booked program:
- Froms Playa Langosta for all swim with Dolphins programs and Garrafon + swim with Dolphins programs scheduled 10:30 am.
- From Playa Langosta for Garrafon programs and Garrafon + swim with Dolphins program scheduled at 3:30 pm.
Please note that the arrival point for your return will be Playa Langosta. Consider this information if you, for example, leave a car in Marina Aquatours.
How far is Isla Mujeres from Cancun by ferry?
The ferry ride from Cancun to Isla Mujeres is approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
How can I get to Marina Aquatours or Playa Langosta if I'm staying in Cancun?
You can get there by bus. The ticket fee per person is less than $1 USD, or you can take a taxi from your hotel; however, do ask your concierge about the details to avoid details and to calculate fees.
Does the ferry round trip from Cancun to Isla Mujeres have an additional cost?
For this Isla Mujeres trip, the ferry transportation is free for all participants; however, there's a dock fee for each swimmer and companion that you have to pay at the time of Check In, this Dock Use Fee costs for adults $20 USD and children $15 USD, children under 5 years of age do not pay this fee.
Is there a rate change if I’m staying in Isla Mujeres and I don't require the ferry service?
No, the rate remains the same as the ferry service is free for participants.
How do I get to Dolphin Discovery if I’m staying in Isla Mujeres?
Just take a taxi and ask the driver to take you to Dolphin Discovery, the driver will know where to go.
Can I do other activities in Isla Mujeres after my dolphin program?
Yes, you can enjoy all the facilities and amenities at our dolphinarium. You can also explore the island by yourself; however, remember that the last ferry departure is at 5:30 p.m.
How far is Cancun from Isla Mujeres by ferry?
Cancun is located in front of Cancun. The boat ride from Isla Mujeres to Cancun is about 30 or 40 minutes.
What is your children's policy?

Children over 4.6 ft will be allowed to participate alone in any of our dolphin programs by paying the adult rate.

Children over 3.9 ft up to 4.6 ft will be allowed to participate alone in the Encounter program. To participate in the Swim Adventure or Royal Swim programs, children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Children over 3.3 ft and up to 3.9 ft will be allowed to participate in the Encounter program accompanied by a paying adult. To participate in the Swim Adventure or Royal Swim programs, children must be accompanied by two paying adults.

Children under 3.3 ft will be considered infants and will perform Encounter activities regardless of the program in which they participate (it is a requirement that they fit the vest).
What are the activities for each program?
- Royal Swim: Foot push, dorsal tow, handshake, kiss, hand target, hug.
- Swim Adventure: Belly ride, boogie push, hug, Hand target, handshake, kiss.
- Dolphin Encounter: Hand target, kiss, handshake, hug.
In all of our programs, our marine mammals specialist will share some educational information about dolphins.
How many can participate the same time in each program?
- Royal Swim: 10 maximum.
- Swim Adventure: 12 people maximum.
- Dolphin Encounter: 15 to 20 people maximum.
Do I have to arrive earlier than the scheduled time of my program?
We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes before your scheduled time as you need to check in and receive a small briefing.
Can I feed the dolphins?
Feeding the dolphins is strictly prohibited as this could affect their health.
Do you offer therapy programs with dolphins?
No, we currently do not have this service. Our programs are educational and interactive.
Do you offer ground transportation service?
Yes; however, it is not included in any of our packages and has a $16 USD fee per person.
How I can recognize the transportation vehicle?
All our units have the Dolphin Discovery logo, in addition, our staff will have a distinctive uniform.
What will be the schedule of my transportation?
The schedule for your pick up and return service will be set at the time of your reservation. There's a dock fee for each swimmer and companion that you have to pay at the time of Check In, this Dock Use Fee costs for adults $20 USD and children $15 USD, children under 5 years of age do not pay this fee.
Do I have to wear a life jacket?
The use of life jackets is mandatory in all aquatic programs. Our staff will provide you with one that suits your size and complexions.
Can I participate in the programs if I have special needs or disabilities?
People with special needs and disabilities may participate in our programs after filling a format and sending it via email to info@dolphindiscovery.com. This format serves to define what program is best suited for you and the preparations we have to make in order to assist you.
Can I use my own camera or mobile when I swim with dolphins?
For safety reasons, the use of cameras or electronic devices in the water is prohibited. Professional photos will be available for sale.
Do you have a pregnant women policy?
For safety reasons, expectant mothers of 5 months or more can't participate in any of our aquatic programs. However, expectant mothers of less than 5 months can only participate in the Encounter program if accompanied by another adult and after signing a waiver.
Can I have a refund if I cancel my program?
Yes, provided the cancellation is made 4 days before your program. All changes are subject to availability on 24 hours requests. Partial or full cancellations will be subject to a 10% bank administration fee.
Will my program get cancelled by inclement weather?
No, our programs are carried out whether rain or shine, therefore, there are no cancellations or refunds in these cases.
How can I view and print my confirmation?
If you cannot find your confirmation in your email; you can look for it with your reservation number and email address at the following link (click here)
How can I purchase my individual photo package by booking on the website?
When you book your swim with Dolphins, you will see the option to add the individual photo package as a complement to your reservation in the shopping cart. Remember that when you book on the website, your individual photo package will get a special price for advance purchase.
How can I buy my individual photo package if I didn't buy it when I booked my swim with Dolphins on the website?
If you have not yet completed your swimming experience (at least one day before) with Dolphins, you can make your purchase of the individual photos package through our Call Center.

What if I have already done my experience with Dolphins and I am in the habitat but I want to buy my package of individual photos?
If you have already done your swim with Dolphins and you want to buy your package of individual photos, you can make your purchase by approaching the photography area to acquire them.
How long after swimming with Dolphins can I buy my individual photo package?
The purchase of individual photographs can be made up to 15 days after your swim with Dolphins will be available to buy on the website. Photo Memories
What requirements do I need to be able to purchase my individual photo package?
The information you need to purchase your individual photo package are: reservation ID, day of activity, time and location where you did your swim with dolphins. Photo Memories
How can I download my photos when I buy my package at the location?
The advisor of the photography team that assisted you will give you an assigned code so that you can download your photos, remember that the download code is unique.

In case of having doubts or not being able to download my individual photos, is there a way to assist me?

If I bought my individual photo package, how can I download my photos?
Once you have completed the swim with Dolphins, remember to go to the photography area to receive your unique download code.
How long after I swim with Dolphins can I download my photos?
The photographs will be available from 48 hours after having made your experience with Dolphins. Photo Memories
What if I want a photo as a couple or group and we pay for the individual photo package, does it have an extra cost?
Yes, it has an extra cost, because the individual photo package that you purchased is per adult or paid minor. If you want to purchase it, you can do it directly with the photography area in the habitat.
Can the price of the individual photo package vary?
Remember that when you buy your individual photo package in advance of your swim with Dolphins, you will receive a special price when you book on our website, in the same way the price may vary depending on the number of individual photo packages you select.
Are pets allowed?
No pets are allowed, with the exception of service animals. Service animals do not include emotional support pets.
