Terms and Conditions for Reservations with Dolphin Discovery

All reservations require full payment at the time of purchase

Charge Information:

IMPORTANT: None of the Dolphin interactions or activities in Cancún – Isla Mujeres include the $290 MXN or $13 USD dock fee per person, which must be paid at check-in in Cancún.

All Marine Mammal activities (Dolphins, Sea Lions, and Manatees) are subject to the Tax on Expenditures for Participating in Aquatic Animal Activities (ISEPAAA), established by the State Authority of Quintana Roo. This tax will be collected directly at check-in and costs $50 MXN per person ages 6 and up.

Quintana Roo residents are exempt from this tax. Proof of residence is required with a valid ID such as an INE, driver’s license, immigration document, social security card, or booklet, and for minors, their school ID will be accepted.

The proceeds of this tax go directly to funds dedicated to the protection of marine species in Quintana Roo.

Payments with Mexican Visa and MasterCard cards: Charges will be applied in Mexican Pesos. The charge will appear on your statement under “The Dolphin Company,” “Centro de Reservaciones de Cancún,” “Dolphin Discovery,” or “Viajero Cibernético SA de CV.”

Payments with foreign Visa and MasterCard cards:: Charges will be applied in US Dollars. Currency exchange rates and conversions will depend on your bank. The charge will appear on your statement under “Dolphin Discovery” or “Dtraveller Ltd.”

Payments through PayPal: The charge will appear on your PayPal account under “Controladora Dolphin.”

Payments with American Express: Charges will be applied in Mexican Pesos. Currency exchange rates and conversions will depend on your bank. The charge will appear on your statement under “Dolphin Discovery,” “Viajero Cibernético SA de CV,” or “Dtraveller Ltd.”

Charge Information:

  • General Cancellation Policies::
    No refunds apply for cancellations made within 4 days before the reserved program. All changes are subject to availability and require a 24-hour notice. Partial or total cancellations are subject to a 10% banking and administrative fee. This policy applies to all parks and Habitats except Punta Cana; for this location, refunds apply up to 2 days before your program.

This policy applies to all The Dolphin Company parks and habitats except Punta Cana; for this location, refunds apply up to 2 days before your program.

  • During Your Reservation::
    Although spaces are limited and in high demand, your spot in the Dolphin swim program is guaranteed when booking through our website www.dolphindiscovery.com or our Call Center.
    We know that the security of your card and the confidentiality of your information are of utmost importance; therefore, our website is protected with Hacker Safe, Thawte, and AMIPCI certifications.
  • Before Traveling: :
    If your cruise or flight is canceled or diverted due to bad weather, we will reschedule the same program on another date through a certificate valid for 365 days. The program will remain the same as the one purchased, with no additional charges or fare increases, and it can be redeemed on your next vacation at any of our Dolphin Habitats: Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Puerto Aventuras, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta, Akumal, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Punta Cana, St. Kitts, and Grand Cayman.
    If the number of participants decreases, the remaining swims will remain pending for future use, as no monetary refunds will be issued. The program may be transferred to a family member if desired.
  • During your program:
    Satisfaction Guaranteed during your visit to our Dolphin Habitat. If your program is suspended due to bad weather, heavy rain, or rough seas, don’t worry! You can take the program within the next 7 days at no additional cost, or we will provide a certificate valid for 12 months plus a 15% discount for future reservations. If, after your dolphin interaction, you feel it was not one of the best experiences of your life, please write to guarantee@dolphindiscovery.com and we will allow you to repeat the program free of charge.

Important Information:

  • Dolphin Discovery offers safe, interactive programs that require some physical participation from our visitors. Participants must be in good general health and able to understand and follow our specialists instructions.
  • If you have recently undergone surgery or suffer from a condition that limits you physically (such as back problems), we recommend consulting our reservations department before purchasing your program.
  • Dolphin Discovery will always do its best to accommodate guests with special needs. However, please contact our reservations office before booking to clarify what assistance is required and to ensure we can meet your needs.
  • For safety reasons pregnant women over 5 months cannot participate in our swim programs. If you are less than 5 months pregnant, please call us for assistance.
