THE DOLPHIN COMPANY COMMEMORATES 31 YEARS OF SHARING UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES WITH MORE THAN 21 MILLION VISITORS
Cancun, Quintana Roo, December 2, 2025.— The Dolphin Company, a globally recognized park operator, celebrates 31 years of providing unforgettable experiences and promoting a connection with nature through educational interactions that inspire environmental protection. Since its beginning in 1994 with its first dolphin habitat in Isla Mujeres under the Dolphin Discovery brand, the company has built a legacy that today positions it as one of the most important park and attraction groups in the world.
Founded in Quintana Roo, The Dolphin Company embarked on a path of growth that soon led it to expand, gradually integrating new habitats and experiences in different destinations. Over time, this evolution made it possible to consolidate an international portfolio of parks, habitats, and marinas, always guided by a firm commitment to education, animal welfare, and sustainability.
Throughout its history, The Dolphin Company has been recognized by prestigious international organizations thanks to its high standards of animal welfare and visitor experience quality. Its main accreditations include AMMPA (Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums), IMATA (International Marine Animal Trainers Association), AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums), Humane Certified, EAAM (European Association for Aquatic Mammals), IAAPA (Global Association for the Attractions Industry), as well as distinctions such as Tripadvisor Traveler’s Choice, Travvy Awards, and various recognitions including Socially Responsible Company, Super Company, Super Company for Women, and Gender Equity and UN Ally distinctions.
As part of its social and environmental commitment, The Dolphin Company has promoted programs that generate a positive impact on the communities and ecosystems that surround it. More than 300 associates participate each year in volunteer activities, while its charitable initiatives have benefited more than 16,000 children over the past decade through in-kind donations and community support programs. Throughout its history, the company has made more than 100,000 “Dream Fulfillments” a reality for children in vulnerable conditions, offering them the opportunity to enjoy meaningful experiences and educational interactions with dolphins.
Initiatives such as “10 Thousand Smiles,” held annually, have made it possible to support thousands of children with toys, food, or resources allocated to health, nutrition, and wellness programs. This work has been possible thanks to the joint efforts of foundations, foster homes, and community organizations.
Likewise, the company has conducted nearly 150,000 free environmental education tours at its various facilities, along with activities from its “Loving is Educating” program, whose objective is to provide educational information to children, adolescents, and adults about the importance of environmental conservation and the species that inhabit it. These efforts also include the annual commemoration of Dolphin Day, Sea Lion Day, and Manatee Day— inclusive events that incorporate simultaneous Mexican Sign Language interpretation, braille materials, and sensory materials.
As part of its environmental work, the Dolphins Saving Oceans program has removed more than 125 tons of trash from coastlines in several countries, reaffirming The Dolphin Company’s commitment to protecting the planet. Similarly, its Rescue Team program, active since 2012, has rescued, rehabilitated, and reintegrated numerous marine mammals in Quintana Roo and around the world, in the cities where it operates, contributing to the preservation of at-risk species.
"Celebrating 31 years means honoring our history, but also renewing our commitment to education, animal welfare, and social responsibility. We have become a global family that inspires millions of people to take care of our planet. Every recognition, every smile, and every memory created is part of who we are. This anniversary inspires us to continue innovating, transforming, and protecting what is most valuable to us: our people, our species, and our environment," said Rodrigo Ceballos, Chief Commercial Officer of The Dolphin Company.
With more than three decades of experience, The Dolphin Company reaffirms its vision to continue creating experiences that inspire, protect, and transform, maintaining its position as a global leader in tourism, education, and conservation.
