THE DOLPHIN COMPANY THREE TIMES AWARDED AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL MARINE ANIMAL TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION (IMATA)

Cancun, Quintana Roo, March 07th, 2022.- The Dolphin Company, the largest park operator in Latin America and the #1 swimming with dolphins company in the world, received 3 awards during the Annual Conference of the International Marine Animal Trainers' Association (IMATA), which took place in the United States in the city of Chicago from February 27th to March 4th.

IMATA was created in the early 1970s with the goal of fostering communication, professionalism, and cooperation among those serving marine mammal science through training, research, breeding, conservation, and education. For 50 years, IMATA has held an annual conference that brings together between 350 and 450 professionals and students dedicated to marine mammals, to exchange experiences, knowledge and recognize those institutions that stand out for their exceptional systems to train specialists and the art of conditioning under positive reinforcement received by the species in their care.

This year, during the IMATA 50 years celebration conference, The Dolphin Company received 3 awards:

  • 1st place in the Education and Conservation category for the presentation: "Rescue and rehabilitation of wild marine fauna in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Our commitment as specialists"
  • 2nd place in the category of Education and Conservation for the presentation: "The corporate Environmental Education department of The Dolphin Company through a pandemic: challenges and new opportunities"
  • "Presenter for the first time" for Paula Loman, Environmental Education Coordinator of The Dolphin Company.

"With our participation in the Annual Conference of the International Marine Animal Trainers' Association, we demonstrate our firm commitment to contribute and promote the protection of the environment through education and our animal care actions, not only with the species that live in our care in the various habitats of The Dolphin Company, but with those found in the wild", said Edgar Urbina, Chief Marine Mammal Specialists and Environmental Education Officer of The Dolphin Company.

For more than 20 years, The Dolphin Company has actively participated in IMATA's annual conferences, hosting twice and obtaining more than 21 recognitions in various categories, among which stand out: Training, Education, Medical Care and Conservation, among others. .
